Position: Founding Engineer: Backend + Data
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Salary: $175k–$225k base + equity (1.0–2.5%)

Seed-stage fintech (6 people) building automation for non-QM mortgages for self-employed borrowers. Revenue-generating, working with the largest lenders in the U.S.

ROLE: Senior or staff-level IC with extensive experience with database schema design, microservices, and backend infrastructure. This is an underdeveloped, messy area to shape and own. Responsibilities include core infrastructure, data pipeline + deduplication logic + failure recovery, and applied ML enablement. No people management, but for the right person could evolve into a leadership role.

STACK:

• Postgres DB accessible through a GraphQL API built with Hasura
• NextJS web application deployed to Vercel
• yarn workspace monorepo utilizing TypeScript
• Playwright + Jest testing with ~80% test coverage
