Simulation & Test Engineer

Job Description

Herakles Defense is a pre-seed defense startup in Munich building autonomous interceptor drones to stop FPV kamikaze drones. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team in various roles:

• Computer Vision & Edge AI Engineer: Work with YOLO on Jetson/Hailo/QRB5165 to detect, classify, and track small targets at 100m+. Experience with model pruning, TensorRT, and sensor fusion is required.
• GNC / Flight Systems Engineer: Focus on image-based visual servoing, proportional navigation, EKF/UKF state estimation, and PX4 integration. Your goal will be to take what works in simulation and make it robust against real-world sensor noise.
• Simulation & Test Engineer: Conduct SITL/HITL, Monte Carlo campaigns, and create digital twins. You will be responsible for running 10,000 simulated engagements before any hardware leaves the ground.
• Technical Advisors: If you have expertise in drone warfare, GNC/aerospace, or defense procurement, we would love to have you on board for a few hours a month to help guide our trajectory.

We offer a salary plus equity, and we ensure that every application is read personally, as we do not use AI screening.
